Yatsufusa's Top 13 Anime Series of Q2 2025 (Spoiler Free!)

Posted by Yatsufusa - 6 hours ago

"Q2 2025 has been a great season - for re-watching your favorite anime and skipping what's currently airing almost entirely...! But that's modern-day animation in a nutshell..."

 – Yatsufusa

Welcome.

This is a ranked, spoiler-free list of my top 13 favorite anime series of the second quarter 2025 (some call it "the Spring season", but I prefer "Q2" due to my awareness of the southern hemisphere and it looks nicer in sorted lists).

This season, I've been very "experiment friendly". In order to demonstrate how more extensive coverage for Anime (as well as western animation", I guess...") might look. And to top it off, I thought I could write up a Top 13 list like I did at the end of 2024 - but just for Q2 of 2025.

While I will rank these series diligently, it had become apparent that thirteen has become an incredibly optimistic number if you do not consider spin-offs and later seasons of a series that started before this quarter. I will write out those 13, but I absolutely refuse to let those [enter appropriate curse word here] beat me, just because I happen to have no control over time and space! The pen is mightier than the sword., after all. So the "lower ranks" will also include alternative recommendations from past series of a similar make that you could watch instead. These should cover cases where readers think "I'd like to watch something like this... but good!"

As previously alluded to: Second seasons etc. will not be considered, because they didn't start this season. So while certain series did not have a chance to be ranked here to begin with, they are still a great watch.

Rules of Ranking

Since this is a ranking, please be aware that, like with any other ranking of media, this is about taste and not about "this series is "objectively" better". I can compare how stories measure up compared to each other, but I couldn't say: "I like tragedy better than comedy, so the same will be true for 'you, dear reader'."

I had mentioned for several series before that I did not watch them in time for the article. I did not find that time up to this date. If a series that you really enjoyed is among those - I'm sorry. At least you got to enjoy them.

I think it is worth to point something out before you start to dig into the list below. I am not angry. I am certainly disappointed, by several new entries this quarter but I am not angry. However, I am speaking to an international audience. Even if my English vocabulary was as nuanced as the one in my first language, many of my readers would not be able to pick up what I'm putting down - so I am always an itty bitty blunt and direct when I write about what I didn't like.

And I want to stress something, before we get to the ranking: The "lower" ranks are not rank #13 to rank #N - they are all "rank #14". I would not list them, if there was anything else I could legitimately rank in their stead. Those rankings are essentially "participation awards", because I always do "Top 13s" - for better or for worse...

Some other stuff you should know about this list before you skip down to the rankings (this was mostly copied from the 2024, in case I forgot something - I'll make this neater "in a few days"):

- There are no links or images to the shows here and I will not discuss the actual content - only mood and quality of the writing as well as the animation/"cinematography". You can go in absolutely blind, if you so desire. Since this is a service no one (I know of) provides, I thought this ranked list would be a good idea.

I would not expect that readers would be psychics who waited almost 12 months in order to get recommendations from me of all people - but we cannot all watch "every single anime" and we are into different stuff. "Different" can still be "good", though.

Please Note: Due to a personal crisis, what I will publish today will just be "vibes". Technical aspects will be added the following week. Feel free to come back when that is completed...

- Only anime series that aired their first season during Q2 of 2025 will be considered.

- 2nd or even later seasons, as well as spin-offs will not be included - so Aharen-san wa Hakarenai will not be on here. "Consecutive-cour series"/"2nd-cour series" do not count for the quarterly ranking but will likely be considered for the 2025 overall ranking. (What I will do in that regard will be up for debate soon-ish...)

But yeah: Generally, if you watched season one of a show and liked it, you don't need others to tell you to watch the second and third season as well. At that point you already know if you like it or not.

- If a show's premise didn't sound interesting to me, then I didn't watch it. Even if I had access to every single series that comes out somewhere, I do not have the time and energy to watch everything.

- I am no professional reviewer. That being said, I critique quite often. I just don't do it on NG anymore. Because fuck those crybabies and their drooling fans. I am under no obligation to improve the creative output of others and I can still hand out poor ratings to poor submissions.

- All the shows are watched and judged with original Japanese voice acting with English subtitles provided by others. I do not comb the web for good subtitles anymore. If the English dubbed version is shite or if there are no good subtitles available in your country, I wouldn't know about it. Likewise, I would not be able to say "The EngSubs from [a certain place] or [certain person] are the best." (Who can even afford multiple services these days?)

- The list starts with the last place and moves to first. Because that's how you do these "review" style of lists. This isn't a playlist...

- And finally: This list is sorted by my own preferences. For those who have trouble understanding this: My personal tastes can be different from yours - there is no "objective" way to "rate" culture and art. The wording of individual entries may be adjusted or expanded upon during the next 3 days. But while I may still agonize over the wording, the sorting of my candidates is final. I'm an honest person and I honestly do not give a fuck about what you liked this year. And if I did I would seek out and read your list on the topic. (Once again, the comment section is closed because I cannot be asked to read and moderate "lol, but..."-comments. I don't hate you, dear reader - I just do not care for a discourse on subjective opinions on the matter.)

"Let's get the insults out of the way then, shall we...?" ;)

The Beginning After the End

[Saikyō no Ōsama, Futatabime no Jinsei wa Nani o Suru?]

AND

Princession Orchestra

(AKA Princess-Session Orchestra)

[Purinsesshon Ōkesutora]

That's right!: I'm struggling to fill the list with something watchable, but at the same time I cannot decide which one of these two to give "the last place" to.

Both "Beginning After the End" and "Orchestra" are both painfully generic and were not worth my time at all. So I'm making them fight to the death! No matter which one loses, the audience wins! ;p

Let's see what you should watch instead...:

[Alternatively for The Beginning After the End]

"Any given Isekai." This series is so generic, it doesn't really matter what I pick as an replacement, but I want to make "some" effort and recommend something The Beginning After the End didn't rip scenes from...

"Let's see here... Too recent... I know a voice actor from that one, so I'm biased... Too good to mention in the same paragraph... Doesn't have a conclusion... Protagonist too young... Still not out, yet... [How is 'Custom Made Demon King' still not out, btw? Weird...] Too "Slow-Lifu"... Too much cleavage... Otome... Food-based... ...! Stop the press, I have it!:"

Knight's & Magic [Naitsu to Majikku]! No, that is no typo I made - that is a typo they made... Despite that kind of "Are you kidding me?"-quality assurance in regards to the title, Knight's & Magic is really original, has enjoyable characters, and features "Giant fuck-off Mechs - battling each other and giant kaiju in a fantasy world!" "Welcome to Rivendell... Mr. Anderson." I went from least original Isekai to one of the most original Isekai. The story is "concluded enough to be satisfying", but if they were to make a second season out of the blue, I'd be here for it.

This is also a great alternative to watching Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX which did not even made the rankings... (Let's say "I despised GQuuuuuuX for repeating all the mistakes Studio Sunrise already knows are mistakes, because they have made them for decades!" So: Fuck you, Studio Sunrise! You do not even get 13th place this time.)

[Alternatively for Princession Orchestra]

I love the Magical Girls-genre. I mean: Look at my avatar... But at the same time, this gives me a very discerning palate in that regard.

So I'm going to recommend two different alternatives to Princession Orchestra:

Little Witch Academia [Ritoru Witchi Akademia] is debatably a Magical Girl anime and it is very hopeful, and very heart-warming, and you and your partner will cry! It is great!

Magical Girl Raising Project [Mahō Shōjo Ikusei Keikaku] is the underdog of Magical Girl anime: This is a story that is very nice, and innocent, and gentle... ...for the first episode... Afterwards it is a story for discerning Storytellers and other people who fundamentally understand that the most gentle and innocent characters are those who have to suffer the most in order to tell a compelling story that moves the hearts of the audience.

Now get out those handkerchiefs and watch some Magical Girls give it their all! :)

Food for the Soul

[Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi]

Girls cook food. Girls eat food. Delicious in Dungeon this is not...

This is not the worst Food-anime I've ever seen, but it is a strong competitor for the most boring one. I dropped the series at some point before episode 6.

If you do not have a lot of experience concerning Food-anime or anime with Japanese schoolgirls (by the way: "How...?"), then this might be something new and unusual for you to check out.

[Alternatively]

So you say you want to see schoolgirls enjoy some food together without any existential crisis looming in the background, but it doesn't have to make much sense as long as they eat and discuss food together? Enjoy Pan de Peace! [Pan de Pīsu] - another anime nobody has ever heard about! If is short, of "humble quality", has plots that can be followed while sleepy, stoned, or almost having a heat-stroke. Despite it "being rather forgettable" you will likely remember it every now and then for decades, wondering "Did I actually watch an anime like that or was it a dream? Did some weirdo on the internet recommend it to me perhaps...?"

Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble: Raising My Baby Brother With Memories From My Past Life

(AKA Shirohiyo)

[Shiro Buta Kizoku desu ga Zense no Kioku ga Haeta node Hiyoko na Otōto Sodatemasu]

This is a series that I thought was rather boring, but inoffensive. Still: "Rather boring... So let's see that alternative suggestion already."

[Alternatively]

Ascendance of a Bookworm [Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan o Erandeiraremasen].

Also a "Walk-in" reincarnation story. Also with a focus on "crafting". Unlike "Neglected Noble", this one will not let you go! Strap in for hours and hours of "grade-A to grade-S" entertainment. Watching the Specials between Season 1 and 2 is not "essential" and they could be skipped if your service does not offer them any you cannot track then down "online", but you'll get some enjoyment out of them if you can find them.

Seriously: This series is not the kind that "is allowed to take the first place in a year when nothing better comes along" - it will give an other series that makes a claim for first place a really hard time with an uncertain outcome. This is the kind of series that keeps people watching anime! Ascendance of a Bookworm is one of the best Isekai stories in existence and one of the best stories in general. The only reason it is listed here is because of my "if this series sounded enticing to you, then watch 'this' instead" setting. To illustrate my point: This season's #1 spot would have had no chance at all against Ascendance of a Bookworm, even with the "for mental health reasons" priority. If I had the money, I would own an Ascendance of a Bookworm art print.

#10

Witch Watch

[Witchi Wotchi]

I did not watch more than episode 1. It's not "bad", it is just not for me.

Personally, I just cannot motivate myself to see if this gets better. The crux here lies in how I value my time and what I enjoy personally: I like arcs that see some kind of closure. Predictably, by the end of this series one or two "hostile" characters will have been turned "amicable" or "friendly", but nobody will be dating anyone and nobody will be graduating. Everyone is stuck in a time loop where they never "grow up" - for all eternity. Episode 1 signaled in bright colors that this will be "11 to 12 more episodes of "exactly this"." If you are okay with that and you liked the first episode, then this is for you.

[Alternatively]

I am so tempted to recommend something just for a joke... But I'll go with something that is actually similar: Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina [Majo no Tabitabi]. All of the base ideas for the stories are... "not that great", but it is rather inoffensive. And also: "There's a witch in it, innit?!" I could not recommend a non-witch anime as replacement for a witch-one...

#9

The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei

(AKA The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries)

[Chūzenji-sensei Mononoke Kōgiroku: Sensei ga Nazo o Toite Shimaukara]

"Observant "detective-type" does stuff." ;p

I'm sorry: Q1's Tasokare Hotel [Tasokare Hoteru] raised the bar so high and I'm sure this series is lovely (which is why I'm still mentioning it), but I just had an entire "Deanna Troi special" chocolate cake made from a double digit number of different kinds of chocolate and prepared by a three-star master confectioner. And they are coming to me, offering me, offering me in-house brand "something brown" that's mostly sugar, cacao butter, and mixed vegetable fats. I could not finish episode 3.

The Japanese anime industry announces what they are going to animate loudly. This should not have been animated and published at the time it was. They did this to themselves.

[Alternatively]

"Mononoke Lecture Logs" is not about the supernatural, but at the same time, that (and a bit of psychology) are the main selling points... Okay, this is awkward as hell, but the best alternative I can suggest for a "mystery type" series with a waft of the occult would be Tasokare Hotel [Tasokare Hoteru] - which just finished airing. That would be like dating your ex's brother...

But while there is some variety in the "occult + detective" segment, a lot of it is... "not very good". I personally enjoyed a lot of them, but most are not the kind you could easily recommend to "any" audience. And I can hardly write "watch this series, but just those two episodes."

But I still have something up my sleeve that won't disappoint: I am going with Dr. Ramune: Mysterious Disease Specialist [Kaibyōi Ramune]: A series that is not at all what you expect it to be. Very rarely have I come across something that goes from "Will I even finish the first episode?" to becoming a carefully shelved treasure.

#8

The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl

[Gorira no Kami Kara Kago Sareta Reijō wa Ōritsu Kishidan de Kawaiigareru]

To put it bluntly: If you're a child or young teen and like the thought of romance more than you like an engaging story about character growth, "depth", or a plot, then you may enjoy this series quite a bit. There's even some rare instances of genuine hugging and light hand-holding - something you see rarely in Japanese anime! The gender-dynamic on the other hand plays out exactly as dusty and outdated as I had feared originally. Oh, and the "antagonist" is so poorly written that you have to suspect that this was originally supposed to be some sort of propaganda piece for an oppressive regime.

However, I have to admit one thing: It was the first series I finished from this season. The calendar played its part in that, but when a new episode came out, I watched it either that or the next day. Animation, style, voice acting... The quality is there in that regard. It's just the writing that isn't there. Oh my is the writing not there... The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl is what you can watch if you are not in the mood for yet another story with pretty pictures that you have to make an effort to follow and where a cliffhanger would not keep you from getting a good night's rest.

[Alternatively]

Even then, Arima still tried to act politely. What tremendous spiritual strength and self-constraint. No really, he's an admirable guy. In that Arima's life, I am probably the first woman to have upset him this much.

For today, I decided things were good... by being proud of that.

 – Yukino Miyazawa

I mean: There is no shortage on "school romance with awkwardness". And the "Fantasy" aspect in The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl is more used as something to fill the action on screen, rather than an integral part - as insane as that may sound for a story of this nature. So I am going to recommend to you that you watch His and Her Circumstances [Kare Kano] instead. It can be enjoyed if you just want to go for a slower pace, but has more to offer if you are in the mood for paying attention.

#7

The Unaware Atelier Master

[Kanchigai no Atorie Maisutā: Eiyū Pāti no Moto Zatsuyōgakari ga, Jitsu wa Sentō Igai ga SSS Ranku Datta to Iu Yoku Aru Hanashi]

Fuck my life... How did this get here... "Oh yeah...: The Q2 this year was depressingly bad - 'That's how'!"

Full disclosure: I did finish the series at the time of writing, but... Well, while it was clear what kind of ending the story would arrive at and how it would look while doing so, I must admit that the series as a whole was so forgettable I forgot half that had happened by the time the final episode aired. The most "truly surprising" thing that this series (that I would describe as "family friendly") does is "big boobies out of nowhere - framed by a giant cleavage".

The story as told is the same joke in dozens of different variations: "Oh look how delightfully unaware our 'Atelier Master' is... (Repeat ad nauseam.)" Alongside that one joke we have a story, that, at its core, is surprisingly ruthless and violent, but gets "softened" by the presence of the titular Atelier Master - and his unawareness. "Oh, evil is afoot... ... "Oh, look: Evil is no longer afoot..."

To me as somebody with no apparent qualification aside from continuously donned the "Writer" Aura on newgrounds.com for unclear reasons, this looks like the writer's original idea for a "perfectly serviceable story" got rejected several times, and so they modified it to fit an "original" premise that would get their story published. The same "original" premise that Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town had...

What can I say: We all need to eat. I see a big part of the fault with the kind of publisher who thinks that the largest part of their potential audience is gullible or super-forgiving.

[Alternatively]

For this, I would say a "lack of protagonist-struggles" is both the core of the series and at the same time the very thing that makes it not worth watching, so I'm not going to replace "bad" with "slightly less bad, but still bad". The only other notable thing about this is the creation aspect, so I am going with a series that has both that as well as comedy that actually has chance to land and more than just one singular story-line laser-focused on the protagonist: Go and enjoy Handyman Saitou in Another World [Benriya Saitō-san, Isekai ni Iku], instead. As a little bonus, the stories actually get lots and lots of conclusions - something you rarely get to experience in anime.

#6

Anne Shirley

[Akage no Anne (2025)]

I have not watched this. I have only seen Anne of Green Gables (from 1979) [Akage no An], which this series is essentially a re-make of.

The reason for this is that I am "damaged" by nostalgia and could not give this a fair shake... If you do not have the same issue, this "could" be for you.

I still expect this series to be much better than anything I just listed. That might give you an idea at which point my "actual recommendations" start.

[Alternatively]

It may sound so lazy right now, but it is the obvious choice: Anne of Green Gables (1979-1979) [Akage no An, Red-haired Anne]. Heads-up: This has 50 episodes! It ran from January 1979 to December 1979. The only animes I am aware of that have more long-running, single series success stories of that era are Attack No. 1 [Atakku Nanbā Wan] (104 episodes) and Yu Yu Hakusho [Yū Yū Hakusho] (112 episodes and a metric fuck-ton of video games)! (Well, and Gundam, of course... But Gundam can get lost!)

And of course, all of those 50 episodes are already out to watch for you right now.

#5

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now and They Won't Leave Me Alone

[Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru: Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsu Shihan Datta noni, Taisei Shita Deshitachi ga Ore o Hōttekurenai Ken]

This is a down-to-earth story about a character who has honed his skills through hard work; rather than having been given awesome video game-stats. And what he does with this skill is: Teach it to others. The sword fighting looks pretty well choreographed as well. If you are into well executed melee techniques you might really enjoy this.

While the plot and the characters are still as appealing to me as they looked after the first episode, the (very forced) implications towards "relationship advancement" are the sand that keeps creaking in this series' gears. They had a perfectly enjoyable story and said "Let's take it and make it 20% worse and replace some passages with the potential world-building with 'longing glances' - just because we can..."

What were they thinking...? Who were they catering to when they decided to put this fate on a main character without a single romantic bone in his entire body? We will likely never find out...

[Alternatively]

"Muhaha!! You will drown in wholesomeness!"

 – Mojikakiya (the author), presumably ;)

My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer [Bōkensha ni Naritai to Miyako ni Deteitta Musume ga Esu Ranku ni Natteta] has dynamics that are not dissimilar and there is a lot of wholesome nurturing goodness going on. On top of that, the viewer gets to experience a lot more angles and character perspectives. The plot and gender-roles are more "modern" as well.

If you, for some reason, perceive me as pleasant company, you will likely like the characters in My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer. Like: All of the protagonists!

#4

I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!

[Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryōshu!]

I'd like to take a moment to address something: "Egg. On 'my' face! Humble pie for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert..." I gave this series so much crap before. And it turned ou as the forth most serviceable series of the season. That being said, I'd rather be wrong and have one more good offering that I caan showcase for you.

The studio no doubt works with "a system", it's just... "weird." Like when you intrude into someone's workspace and they tell you that they have "a system", but to your mind it looks chaotic. This is what's awaiting you here. It's not a bad series, but from an outside look, this series does not know what it wants to be when it's done.

If you like surprises, this will likely appeal to you, because you never know what will happen next.

Also: If you happen to be a member of Clan Malkavian, you will likely love this.

And to top it all off: The ending is not only a real conclusion, it is also surprisingly beautiful.

[Alternatively]

The core of this series quickly becomes "its insanity and its variety", so I am going to recommend a hidden gem: Pi Po Pa Po Patrol, which gets summarized with "A children's anime about police and their talking police cars. It has no steady plot."

... Just kidding. ;)

But anime does spoil us with series that happen to be both enjoyable but also completely insane. While there is a Science-Fiction angle to "Evil Lord" it is actually not particularly pronounced, so I will be recommend you to watch How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno [Ueno-san wa Bukiyō], instead. While the episodes are best enjoyed in order, you could just start by watching whatever episode title you fancy have a good time, and "realize what is going on here"... :3

As far as I know, "Miss Ueno" could very well have been produced by Malkavians as well, so these two series are two birds of a feather.

#3

Teogonia

[Teogonia]

As the series goes on, it loses some of its intrigue. And while it doesn't reinvent the wheel, it gives it a really fancy shape that works all the same. The premise of it being "an Isekai" takes a backseat in favor of the characters' development and personal growth. And its approach to "a spirituality more related to the observable universe" works greatly in its favor.

The end result is really satisfying and the best new, "serious story" Q2 has to offer in terms of world building. However... The protagonist acts far too young for his age, setting, and genre. While he does grow, he also suffers from occasional "arbitrary stupidity": He makes strides in personal growth, just to behave stupid in the next episode. It is as if the writers decided "he needs more growth" - but instead of finding new ways for him to grow (and there would still be plenty left), they just "undid" some old growth. There is a lot of good here, but this back and forth in character growth is upsetting.

I dearly hope that we will see a second season. I want to know more about the characters' individual fates as well as what will happen to the humans. The world of Teogonia is an interesting one and if I had the time and headspace for manga, I would start reading the manga now.

[Alternatively]

I know a lot of Isekai, but even if I was hard-pressed to recommend an alternative for this series, nothing comes to mind. While their gender-dynamics aren't the most interesting, they really did some heavy lifting when it came to themes and originality for this one. This is the kind of anime I'd recommend as an alternative for other series in future articles. ;)

#2

The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom

[Kanpeki Sugite Kawaige ga Nai to Konyaku Haki Sareta Seijo wa Ringoku ni Urareru]

This is a "good old" fantasy world: "Where men are still "real men" and women... outshine those stupid troglodytes!" Thank. You. Writers! After Master Swordsman, this hits the spot even more than it would usually have. No swooning here! :D

As the series goes on, the stories and characters gain complexity and several characters who initially gave off the impression that they would be mere set-dressing gained depth and began to act like "real" people with motivation and thoughts of their own. Over the course of the story, the characters grow more complex, we gain more insight into their individual backgrounds, and the story advances at a steady pace - heading for a finale deserving of that name. As it should be! In the sorry excuse of a media-landscape we currently live with, this series is easily in the top 10% of any list. You "might likely" see it in this year's Top 13...

[Alternatively]

So let's see here... You want an anime where the protagonist has some "birthright" but mostly earned their power through hard training, does not shy away from the other sex and tries to heal the world-- !! Go watch Parallel World Pharmacy [Isekai Yakkyoku] if you haven't already! That series will do wonders for your mental health!

#1

Catch Me at the Ballpark!

[Bōrupāku de Tsukamaete!]

Catch Me at the Ballpark! is a Sports-anime that is neither about the sports team nor the sport - but rather about the fans and the people around them while they indulge this hobby. And if you've never seen a single baseball game, you can enjoy this all the same.

The series is centered around the staff at a very wholesome, Japanese baseball stadium with a focus on the newest member of staff. And... Everyone is delightful!

My only complaint it the amount of alcohol depicted and that it's portrayed so nonchalantly.

My appologies to Mitsuru Adachi's entire fan base for saying this, but from my perspective, this is the future of Sports-anime. To a non-sports-fan, all those clever rule intricacies, remarks about stamina and the weather... I know they are real, painstakingly researched stuff that does come up in the actual sport, but... To people who only care about the characters and not about the sport, they come off like Yu-Gi-Oh!-rules, with intricacies and interactions that were just made up for the series and never found their way into the actual card game. (Or having a huge chunk of the most beloved cards being banned in real world tournaments, because they were intentionally unbalanced.)

[Alternatively]

Just to make this very clear: I have never seen anything like this. This is not just the future of Sports-anime; this is the future of Sports in entertainment media! I can only hope that the industry took notes and that the mangaka responsible, Tatsurō Suga, is filling the swimming pool in the back of his mansion with gold coins by now. He would deserve it! ;)

And there we go...!

"Now I can shower and go to bed... ;_;"

Miscellaneous Acknowledgement:

In the ever-expanding list of "this exists" that I started adding to these articles, here's a recommendation for a Korean movie/ONA/mini-series that apparently came out in June. (This is inherently disadvantageous for being included in these kinds of seasonal rankings, but makes sense when you consider that June is Pride Month):

The Summer [Geu Yeoreum Movie] [그 여름 ] is about the evolving relationship between two young women. And it is bound to make you cry a little and grow as a person.

I am not acquainted with any normal people, so I don't know where or how normal people would find or watch these things. A friend saw it and said it was great, but I have yet to watch it at the time of writing. You will probably watch it "online".

When I asked for a ranking in relation to this list, difficulties due to different tastes became apparent immediately. They said "probably" #7 for hetero people, but "probably higher" for the LGBTQIA+ community. (They themselves are hetero.)
